Janet, Marilyn, ME, our new friend Suzanne from Lite 96.5 KNWC, Beth and our new friend, Carmon, who literally took a dive at our feet!!!!
I have always said that songs speak to me. God speaks to me through songs. Well, I heart Him, LOUD and clear! Jeremy Camp sang, "There Will Be A Day" after he shared the story of the loss of his young wife to cancer on that very day years before. He went on to say that he is now remarried and has two beautiful girls, but is holding tight to this thought: There will be a day....
"I try to hold on to this world with everything I have, but I feel the weight of what it brings, and the hurt that tries to grab . The many trials that seem to never end, His word declares this truth, that we will enter in this rest with wonders anew. But I hold on to this hope and the promise that He brings that there will be a place with no more suffering .
There will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place will be no more.
We'll see Jesus face to face, but until that day, we'll hold on to You always .
I know the journey seems so long. You feel you’re walking on your own,
But there has never been a step where you’ve walked out all alone.
Troubled soul don’t lose your heart, cause joy and peace He brings.
And the beauty that’s in store outweighs the hurt of life’s sting.
I can’t wait until that day where the very one I’ve lived for always
will wipe away the sorrow that I’ve faced.
To touch the scars that rescued me from a life of shame and misery
This is why I sing.
THERE WILL BE A DAY."
A full house!
Jeremy with his amazing backdrop!
"We are the light!"
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. - Matthew 5:5-17
Lots of sound, musicianship and a little smoke!
Bebo Norman and his amazing friend and musician.
As promised, I have pictures. Actually these are just SOME of the pictures I took. We had a wonderful time. At times, I thought I was too old for that kind of music, but really, I ended up really loving it and rocking out with the best of them. We found a few old friends, a few new friends, a wonderful ticket taker who was even older than me! He came up to us and said laughingly, "Ladies, I hope you realize this is a Christian concert! You are having entirely too much fun!" Then he went on to say how great it was that we were having so much fun together. We must have been infectious!!!! We laughed, we talked, we giggled, we cried, we texted like the kids do, we talked purses and clothes, we lost jewelry and broke a coat....I even went right up front for pictures....my whole body was vibrating with the sound coming from the speakers at that close a range. Janet adopted her child....Janeth.....she REALLY really REALLY wanted that child!!!! I saw some of my "blog buddies", Jennifer, and Chris, and Michelle, and got a big hug from Shelly. Jennifer even thanked me for the big "Choose Joy hug" she has come to appreciate so much! The next morning, on KNWC, Suzanne talked about the concert. She said that one of the great things about going to a concert like that is the new friends she makes. She said, "I met this crazy group of ladies from Iowa. Here's a shout out to Janet, Marilyn, Carol and Beth". My phone went crazy.....texts from all over the place. "Did you hear?" I heard, and I loved!
Music, friends, laughter, tears, hugs.....what a blessing to be part of such an event. I was choosing joy all day!!!! I heard an interesting thought on the radio. Maybe there is a reason I named my blog what I did. J. for Jesus - O. for Others- Y. for Yourself. That is the order of things. That should be the priority list and you will find happiness. Put Jesus first, then others before yourself and all will be in order. Have a better than ordinary day-and you too can Choose Joy!

That looks like so much fun! I went to an Night of Joy concert at Disney with my teenage son before. Front row and feeling a little too old, but it turned out to be an awesome memory. We saw Steven Curtis Chapman do his first performace of "Cinderella" right in front of Cinderalla's Castle. Lots of tears! :-)
Great photos! I like your blog name!

Carol, it was a great concert! I agree with everything that you said but it makes me sad that one of the employees thought you were in the wrong place because you were having too much fun...even more reason to "choose joy" and let it show!
How sad that being a Christian equals boring (or other words like it) to people who don't have the joy we have.
Convicts me to work harder to share my joy!
Oh Carol -- it was so wonderful wasn't it???? There's a reason people see the joy in you. It's because the JOY is IN YOU! There's no mistakin' it.
Thank you for who you are. So glad we got to share that special moment together. I've come back to your blog twice today just to hear the song, and to see the photos again ...
How fun!!! Ironically, this exact song came on after I made a visitation at a funeral home this week to give my condolences to a co-worker, after his dad died. I got into my car and kept asking how is this man going to go on? Well, God answered when this song came on the radio. It is beautiful. Glad you had joy at this event and at the concert!!!
Awesome pictures...it was a fun night! I love the song from Jeremy "there will be a day" as when I first heard it a few months ago while driving back from seeing my aunt who was dying with cancer...I felt the words of hope he sang of...no more tears...no more pain...no more fears...Praise God for this Hope we have as Believers!
Love ya,
Marilyn
Carol - thanks for clearing up the confusion. Although I misunderstood you, there are still people who believe being in love with Jesus isn't fun - they are SO missing out, aren't they?
Oh Carol....that sounds like the most wonderful concert! And to get to go and enjoy it with you fun friend....priceless. I like Jeremy Camps song but didn't know his background regarding his wife.
And too cool about getting a shout out from the Radio station....you're a Star Sister!!! And I LOVE the acronym for JOY...never thought of it like that but how awesome of a way to look at him!
I LOVE JEREMY CAMP! He is coming to the State Fair with SCC and I cannot wait! Your pictures look so awesome. I am just over the moon to hear him sing....he was the first I really loved when I was new to this "God thing". YEAH! Thank you for sharing!!!!
