Thankful

Spring means flowers. Mom always loved her flowers. I have been doing a lot of yardwork getting ready for Tyler's graduation party on Sunday. Please, Lord, hold off on the rain. You know I don't have room in my house and the yard looks so nice. Thank you, Lord for hearing my prayer!!! I did not write this poem, but found it and "borrowed it" to pay tribute to an outstanding Mom. She would have loved my flowers.....

You were my mother and my friend,
Which was unusual.

Somehow our characters still blend:
Your wisdo
m and my will.

I turned, and you were there for me;
I spoke, you understood.

I felt cared for, but also free;
You loved, and I was good.

I'm fortunate that I was born
To someone just like you;

I love you still.

Though you are gone, you live on in what I do.
I have been told I look like you...more every day. I always thought you were so pretty, so that is nice. You had the nicest skin, always wore your coral lipstick and always had your hair combed. I can not say I ALWAYS anything, except I will ALWAYS love you.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom. I know you have just gone to pick another flower. I love you forever-Can't wait to see you again.

Now, excuse me please, I am going to my "missing place", courtesy of my friend, Kelly at http://sufficientgrace-kelly.blogspot.com/. I love her blog verse too! "Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. Psalm 126:5. Aren't we blessed that "He sees every single tear ?"

What a beautiful poem...and beautiful pictures, too. As time goes by, people tell me I look more and more like my mother...and I can see her face in my own sometimes. When I was a teenager, I would have cringed if someone said that. But now, it is such an honor. My mother was beautiful...and I miss her so. I'll be thinking of and praying for you this Mother's Day. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, as well. And for your kind words...

Love...from the Missing Place,
Kelly

Thanks Carol...someday, I'll post something with a little better sound quality, but this seemed to fit for today. I did visit my mom's grave today, as well. But...it is still such a tender spot. I needed to keep it private. Anyway...thanks for your sweet comments. I'm excited that you sing, too! My husband plays guitar...so we are blessed to help with music at our church. (With the children on Sunday mornings...and Saturday evening bible studies.) It is so much fun...and just a huge blessing to be allowed to serve the Lord through music and worship. Anyway...your words blessed me this evening. Tonight...God has filled my heart with joy. The joy of being a mom...even as I'm missing my own sweet mama.

Have a beautiful Mother's Day, tomorrow.

Love to you,
Kelly
