Greatest Gifts

He is a big old Teddy Bear. George....He is in need of some prayers, warriors. Life has handed him a bum road with the progression of his Parkinson's Disease. Pray for his comfort. What can you do to lighten the load for a fellow man? If it is your time, your prayers, a few hugs, a kind word or two, some caring concern....those are the greatest gifts you can give this Christmas. Reach out to another....Marissa came home from her church youth group meeting tonight, very excited with a "gift of giving" they had received from their youth group leaders. They were challenged to give, and reminded of the spirit of giving through the verses: "For I was hungry and you gave me meat, thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in, naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came unto me." Matthew 25: 35-36
As I have "matured", I realize that there is not one single thing I want for Christmas. There is not one single thing I need. What could most of us possibly NEED? The song, "Grown Up Christmas List", sung here by Kelly Clarkson, is perfectly wonderful..."Here's my lifelong wish... my grown up Christmas list, not for myself, but for a world in need. No more lives torn apart, that wars would never start, and time would heal all hearts, and everyone would have a friend, and right would always win and love would never end...this is my grown up Christmas list. As children we believed, the grandest site to see, was something lovely wrapped beneath the tree. But heaven only knows that packages and bows, can never heal a hurting human soul."
Take the time this Christmas. That could be the greatest of gifts. Love, Carol
I know I have posted this one before, but it really is such a precious picture of Grandpa George, Kavian and Calvin. They love going to see Grandpa George at the Health Center.

So true. The greatest gift we can receive during Christmas is the gift of appreciation and thankfulness. And George will be in my prayers.

As i get older I realize how my mama felt when she would always say she didn't want anything for Christmas when we would ask her.. the way I feel now. Those boys are so sweet,, Sending a prayer for Grandpa George.
