John 14: 1-3

Let not your heart be troubled. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

We said good-bye to George today, my father-in-law, the big teddy bear. I will miss him greatly, but I know his struggles on this earth are over. His pain is over. Today was a day of making plans, figuring out scripture verses and songs. I will sing. The 8 grandsons will proudly carry their Grandpa George.

As soon as I heard the news, I was given this song.
My life is a series of songs:
Weak and wounded sinner, lost and left to die. Raise your hands for love is passing by. Come to Jesus. Come to Jesus. Come to Jesus and live.

Now your burden's lifted and carried far away. His precious blood has washed away the stain, so sing to Jesus. Sing to Jesus. Sing to Jesus and live.

Like a newborn baby, don't be afraid to crawl, and remember when you walk, sometimes you fall, so fall on Jesus. Fall on Jesus. Fall on Jesus and live.

Sometimes the way is lonely and steep and filled with pain, so if the sky is dark and pours the rain, then cry to Jesus. Cry to Jesus. Cry to Jesus and live.

And when the love spills over and music fills the night and when you can't contain your joy inside, then dance for Jesus. Dance for Jesus. Dance for Jesus and live.

And with your final heartbeat, you kiss the world goodbye, then go in peace and laugh on Glory's side...then fly to Jesus...fly to Jesus...fly to Jesus and live.

I believe it was the most glorious of flights. No more pain...no more suffering...a new, perfect body, no longer held rigid with disease...the mansions He has prepared for you...most likely with some amazing woodworking... Goodbye George...until we meet again...

Dear Childress Family,
My sympathy to all who loved George. Imagine the reunion with Randy and other loved ones he is having in Heaven.
Don Piper wrote in his book '90 Minutes in Heaven' after a death experience, '...Everything I experienced was like a first-class buffet for the senses. I had never felt such powerful embraces or feasted my eyes on such beauty... Never, even in my happiest moments, had I ever felt so fully alive... I felt loved - more loved than ever before in my life...'.
These words give us hope and comfort at that glimpse of God's future for us all.
My Sympathy to you,
Diane
