Great Grandma Nichols with her very first set of grandtwins.
On November 5, 2004, we were blessed with twin grandsons.
Kavian was born first...always the fighter, the scrapper, born with a black eye, eager to get out into the world and live! 2 lbs. 3 oz. We called him "The Kaveman".
Calvin (aka. The Calvinator)was born soon after, weighing 2 lbs. 15 oz, with a heart condition that scared us more than one time. He was long and skinny and liked to stretch out. He was taller and bigger, and still is today, on this, their fourth birthday. I posted this late last night, couldn't quite stay up until midnight, so it posted as Nov. 4, but November 5 is actually the big day!
Life With Twins
Sometimes I say to myself...what was God thinking?
There are days when there is not enough of me to go around and the house is a mess and there are 2 times the laundry, and two times the diapers and 4 muddy feet and 2 glasses
of spilled milk...Sometimes I get so tired, but most days I just feel blessed to have 4 little arms to hug me and 4 big eyes to melt my heart. I love double the kisses and double the little hands in mine. I wouldn't trade these moments for diamonds or rubies. I love it when they sit on my lap. I love it when they run up to me and hug me. I love it when they wave through the door over and over until they can no longer see the van. These are the special moments of life...moments of love, of family, of treasured times. I thank God for my many blessings...small, living, breathing blessings. I thank their mommy and daddy for the boys. God gave me the honor of being the Grandma of twins. I am doubly blessed!

Happy Birthday Boys! They are so adorable! Hope you have a great birthday party!
Love ya,
Marilyn and Mia too!
Another beautiful post from a beautiful lady. Thanks for sharing these sweeties with us!
Okay, so after reading your blog a bit more I've come to learn that we have some similarities. I love photography....though I don't know how to 'play' and tweek it the way you do, as I'm sure you are much more of an expert than myself. I also painted my kids rooms, though it's not the greatest, I still enjoyed doing it myself. (If you go to my site's archive and click 'March' you will see their rooms. It's not perfect, but it's not half bad either.)
I also know what it's like to havee a preemie. Though I didn't have twins, my two kids, now 3 and 5 were small too. Hannah weighed 1lb. 9 oz. 11 inches long and my son, who was able too 'cook' a little longer came out at 4 lbs. It's not easy is it? To watch such smal one's fight to live? But as always, God is in control. Happy birthday to Calvin and Kavian. What does that name 'Kavian' mean anyhow? Just curious. Anywho, so now I am proud to say I have added myself as a follower of your blog. I do enjoy it, though I must admit, I love the idea of scrapbooking, but it's too teedius(sp) for my blood. I have a friend who does this and I just don't know how she does it! Ya'll are truly blessed and gifted! Sarah - Have Happy New Year!
